Squirrels are between 18-27 inches long and weigh between 1 ¾ and 2 ¼ pounds and produce many offspring – two litters per year typically in January and July, with an average of 3-5 per litter.
Squirrels are very active rodents and are constantly looking for food, either to eat or to store for the winter season.
Squirrels need to chew constantly to keep their teeth from getting too long and will chew through almost anything. Siding, structural wood, aluminum, electrical wires, insulation, shingles, and vents are favorite targets. This chewing activity can result in significant damage to buildings and major headaches for businesses and homeowners.
Squirrels will build nests in attics, chimneys, vents, roofs, and walls.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Listen for noises in the morning and early evening. Squirrels are active rodents. Look for indications of squirrels entering into holes under eves, through holes in attic vents, and roof vents. A squirrel only needs a hole the size of a golf ball to gain entry into a structure. They will frequently chew holes larger to make it easier to gain access.

SQUIRREL CONTROL

There can be multiple squirrels living in a building. If squirrels are present they must be removed before their entry points can be excluded. All possible entry points must be sealed to prevent squirrels from re-accessing the structure once all squirrels are removed from the building. Entry points should be sealed with sheet metal, hardware, cloth, or metal vent guards wherever possible. Do not use foam in a can by itself as it is not a barrier to a squirrel’s sharp teeth.

Highly recommend this group!!! Within 24 hours of my “something stinks” panic call, one of the techs, Ronnie, was at our place taking care of the animals that found their final resting place in our vents… and patched it up so we wouldn’t have this happen again. On-time, efficient, and very knowledgeable!!
